Kansas City’s botanical garden is about to glow. The Evergy Festival of Lights returns to Powell Gardens in Kingsville on select evenings from November 19, 2026 through January 3, 2027, turning the gardens into a winter wonderland of illuminated paths and festive displays.
From 5 to 10 p.m. on festival nights, visitors bundle up and stroll a lighted outdoor trail past Powell Gardens’ exceptional architecture and treasured Midwest landscape, dressed for the season. It is a breath of fresh, crisp air right in the middle of the hectic holiday rush: part light show, part peaceful garden walk, and all Kansas City tradition. Members get a head start with a preview night on November 18.
Tickets on weeknights run $19 for adults and $10 for youth ages 5 to 12, rising to $22 and $12 on Fridays and Saturdays; members and children 4 and under enter free. The festival takes a break on Thanksgiving Eve and Day, Christmas Eve and Day, and New Year’s Eve and Day, so pick a glowing night and make plans early.
