The conductor rings the bell, the wooden seats gleam, and the kids are already waving at Ybor. The TECO Line Streetcar is Tampa’s favorite free family ride — vintage-style streetcars running between downtown, the Channel District and Ybor City every 12–15 minutes, no fare, all charm.
Make it an adventure: board downtown near the Riverwalk, count the chickens in Ybor (the famous feral flock descends from cigar workers’ yard birds), hop off for a Cuban sandwich and a look at the casitas, then ride back as the city lights come on. The cars’ conductors are famously kind to young riders with questions.
It’s transit disguised as a theme-park ride — and priced at Tampa’s favorite number: free.
