Good news for Phoenix dog lovers: the Desert Botanical Garden is rolling out the desert trails for its four-legged fans once again. Dogs’ Day in the Garden returns on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., inviting pups and their people to explore one of the most beautiful desert landscapes in the Southwest together.
For one special morning, dogs are welcome along the Garden’s trails, surrounded by towering saguaros, sculptural prickly pears and the rich colors of the Sonoran Desert in fall. A “paw-ty” pack available at check-in helps four-legged guests make the most of the visit, and the Garden’s dog-friendly rules keep things simple: pups stay on a leash, and their humans handle the cleanup.
The timing could hardly be better. Early November brings some of the finest walking weather of the year to Phoenix, with mild mornings that show off the Garden’s desert plant collection at its best. It is a rare chance to share a favorite Phoenix landmark with the whole family — paws included — and to snap a few unforgettable photos of your best friend among the cacti.
Organizers suggest arriving early to enjoy the coolest hours, bringing water for both ends of the leash, and planning a relaxed stroll rather than a race. Whether it is your dog’s first desert adventure or a beloved annual tradition, Dogs’ Day in the Garden promises a joyful morning in the desert.
