Great news for anyone dreaming of a New York City trip: NYC Tourism + Conventions just updated its “What’s New & Upcoming in New York City” guide, and the message is clear — the five boroughs are more welcoming and affordable than ever.
The refreshed NYC on a Budget travel hub promotes free and affordable activities across all five boroughs, from events and attractions to outdoor spaces and seasonal fun. New York City is home to more than 115 cultural attractions and venues offering free or suggested admission, whether year-round or on select days and hours.
Getting around is easier on your wallet too: the MTA’s weekly OMNY fare caps give you unlimited subway and bus rides for $35, children ages 5–17 ride the LIRR and Metro-North for just $1 through the Family Fare program, and the NYC Ferry’s new Two-Day Unlimited Ticket offers 48 hours of hop-on, hop-off harbor sightseeing for $15. New neighborhood guides spotlighting local businesses keep rolling out monthly — recent editions cover Coney Island, Corona, Lower Manhattan, the South Bronx, and Randall Manor. Happy exploring!
