More than 900 of the country’s best young tennis players are heading to New Orleans this fall, and families are invited to watch them play for free. The Allstate Sugar Bowl Tennis Classic returns to City Park from Saturday, November 7 through Monday, November 9, 2026, bringing a joyful weekend of youth sport to one of the city’s favorite green spaces.
The annual tournament is a United States Tennis Association national event for boys and girls from across the United States and Puerto Rico. Players compete in age groups for 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under, and 18 and under, so spectators can follow rising stars at every stage of the junior game, from first big matches to finals-level rallies.
Matches will be played at five locations: City Park Tennis Center, Atkinson Stern Tennis Center, Joe Brown Park, UNO Tennis Center and Audubon Tennis Center. Play starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday at all locations, and the finals take place at City Park Tennis Center on Monday, November 9 at 9:30 a.m.
City Park Conservancy says its award-winning Tennis Center is one of the finest facilities in the region, and it looks forward to welcoming players and families from around the country. The Sugar Bowl Committee says the Classic gives young student-athletes a chance to compete on a big stage in New Orleans.
For families, it is an easy, happy plan: admission for the community is free across all three days, the setting is City Park, and every match is a chance for local kids to see what dedication, practice and good sportsmanship can build. Happy City News will be cheering for every young player who takes the court.
