Halloween Fun Brings Pumpkins, Stories and a Monster Mash to Louisiana Children’s Museum on October 31

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, and the Louisiana Children’s Museum in City Park is spending it the best possible way: a full day of gentle, giggly, not-too-spooky fun made just for young children. The museum’s Halloween Fun celebration runs all day on Saturday, October 31, inviting families to enjoy the fall traditions of the season with a playful twist.

The day starts in the pumpkin patch, where little ones can sort pumpkins all day in the Play With Me area, then head to the Edible Garden to paint their own pumpkin between 10:00 and 11:00 in the morning. Around the campfire, Halloween stories are read at 11:00, 1:00 and 3:00, perfect for a cozy pause between activities.

The afternoon keeps the energy up: Bambi Maloney leads a clown yoga session from 1:30 to 2:30, the Monster Mash Dance Party gets everyone moving at 2:30, and spooky STEM activities close the celebration at 3:00, blending science with the magic of the season. As the museum itself promises, it is going to be a boo-tiful day.

Set inside New Orleans City Park at 15 Henry Thomas Drive, the nonprofit museum is built around learning through play, with hands-on exhibits indoors and out. Halloween Fun is a sweet way for families to celebrate the holiday in daylight, in costume, and surrounded by neighbors.
