Twins Family Day at Target Field: Baseball With the Kids

Target Field, the Minnesota Twins’ limestone jewel in the North Loop, was designed for families as much as for pennant races. The ballpark opens early for batting practice autograph hunts, T.C. Bear works the concourses like a mayor of fun, and the kids’ zone behind the outfield gives wiggly fans room to play between innings.

Sunday home games are the family specialty — kids can run the bases after the game, a memory printed on a thousand childhoods. Value ticket-and-snack packages, the light-rail stop at the gate and skyline sunset views make logistics painless; the limestone-and-glass park itself, with its giant Minnie and Paul handshake sign, gives the day its postcard.

Baseball is America’s slowest, sunniest family ritual — and Minneapolis does it as warmly as anyone.
