Game Day with the Kids: Detroit City FC at Keyworth Stadium

For a family sports night with serious atmosphere, Detroit does it differently. Detroit City FC — Le Rouge — plays at historic Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck, where the Northern Guard Supporters’ smoke, drums and songs turn every match into a block party, and kids absorb the beautiful game up close.

Keyworth, opened in 1936 and once visited by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, keeps fans near the action, and the club prides itself on community: youth programs, affordable tickets and a welcoming, family-first crowd in the stands away from the smoke. The USL Championship season runs spring through fall, with the women’s team adding summer dates.

Match schedules and tickets are at detcityfc.com. Bring the kids, learn the chants on the way, and don’t be surprised if they leave as supporters for life.
