‘French Splendor’: The DSO Celebrates Ravel and Debussy November 5–7

Orchestra Hall turns Parisian this November when the Detroit Symphony Orchestra presents French Splendor: Ravel, Debussy, and More, on November 5–7, 2026. Guest conductor Marie Jacquot leads a program of shimmering French masterworks, joined by music of Dutilleux and Dalbavie.

Few orchestras anywhere sound as luminous in this repertoire as the DSO does in its home hall, a 1919 jewel celebrated for its warm, clear acoustics. Expect the iridescent colors of Debussy, the elegance of Ravel and a few contemporary French voices that prove the tradition is still very much alive.

Performances are Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center, 3711 Woodward Avenue in Midtown. Tickets and the full classical season schedule are at dso.org.
