Charlotte is about to relive one of the defining albums of the 1990s. The Smashing Pumpkins bring their “The Rats in a Cage Tour” to Spectrum Center on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 8:00 PM, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their landmark double album Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The Billy Corgan-led band has promised two unique sets: a full performance of the classic 1995 album from start to finish, plus a second set packed with what they describe as “nearly four decades of unruly hits and dark treasures.” Fans can expect anthems like “1979,” “Bullet With Butterfly Wings,” “Tonight, Tonight,” “Cherub Rock” and “Zero,” alongside deep cuts that longtime followers will know by heart.
The Charlotte stop arrives mid-run on the 27-date North American tour, which launched September 30 in Columbus and wraps up November 12 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
