Charlotte will honor memory with color, music and joy on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when the Festival Día de Muertos returns to Camp North End. Presented by the Latin American Coalition and the Levine Museum of the New South, the annual Day of the Dead festival invites the whole city to step into the vibrant heart of Mexican culture and celebrate loved ones in the most festive and spirited way.
The afternoon is packed with experiences for all ages: live music, a captivating parade of Catrinas, community altars created by local families and groups, folkloric dances, arts and crafts, delicious traditional food and fun activities for children. Visitors can also learn how to register to create an altar of their own, joining a tradition that turns remembrance into a shared celebration of life.
The festival runs from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Camp North End, 300 Camp Road in Charlotte. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5 encouraged to support the celebration, help keep it accessible to the community and ensure it can return each year.
For Happy City News readers looking for a joyful, family-friendly plan to start November, this beloved Charlotte tradition offers art, flavor and community in one unforgettable afternoon.
