Great news for dinosaur fans in San Francisco: the dinosaurs are not going extinct just yet. Dinos Rule!, the life-sized animatronic dinosaur exhibition at the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens, has been extended through January 3, 2027, giving families months more to visit a show that was originally set to close on September 12.
The exhibition brings 21 realistic, scientifically informed dinosaur models to life with advanced robotics, so the creatures blink, breathe and sway their tails as guests walk by. Grouped by era and geographic origin, the dinosaurs appear in dynamic scenes of nesting, hunting and scavenging, all themed around evolution and extinction and based on fossil evidence.
Kids can step inside the fun, too. Families will find a five-foot-tall dinosaur egg photo opportunity, a six-foot-long Sauropod footprint, a four-foot-long Tyrannosaurus rex footprint and a giant dig pit where young paleontologists can hunt for dinosaur fossils.
Dinos Rule! is a separate ticketed experience: $9 per person, $8 for Zoo members, and free for children under 2. A general admission ticket is also required, each exhibition ticket is good for one visit on any date during the run, and no reservations are needed. The Zoo, at Sloat Boulevard and the Great Highway, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
